Today’s prompt is about legacies so here is quick poem about an Epitath for Everyman’s hopes and dreams for a life:
Everyman wants,
a life of success.
His name on all lips,
Hot off the press.
Everyman wants,
international renown.
His name in all heads,
from cap to crown.
Everyman wants,
a Pound for each star.
Wealth as envied as,
the richest Czar’s.
Everyman wants,
a life without crime.
Hoping to achieve,
Peace in our time.
Everyman wants,
a life eternal.
To dodge the fires of,
the plains infernal.
Everyman lies,
Six feet under foot.
His dreams a memory,
his life caput.
Everyman learns,
the why of the lie.
The reason he failed,
two words, “No pie”
